The Grand Rapids Recruiting Station was able to assist in hosting the Veterans Day Game with the Grand Rapids Griffins while conducting a swear-in ceremony on the ice and I got to drop the puck for the ceremonial puck drop at the start of the game.

On Saturday, Hero Services held their 9/11 memorial game Strikes for Stripes at Cornerstone University. This event is a friendly competition between veterans and first responders. For many that played, including me, the events of 9-11-2001 had a part in why we served our country or our community. 22 years ago, I watched the second plane hit live on TV during class my junior year of high school. Our country was hit. Let us never forget those events that aspired that day.
