Located, in DFW, TX (Grand Prairie) ATK High Performance is seeking a couple skilled High-Performance Engine Builders specializing in classic and modern American Muscle. ATK High Performance is one of the largest Performance Engine companies in the US.
Key Responsibilities
Engine Blueprinting & Assembly: Perform end-to-end assembly of high-performance engines to finite tolerances for maximum power and reliability.
Specialized Machining: Cylinder head porting, block clearance/grinding experience a plus, rod honing, etc. We do not do much machining here as we have plants that do this for us to our specs, but knowledge of engine/head machining is a big plus.
Component Analysis: Tear down engines to diagnose wear patterns and root causes of failure, documenting every step in detailed build sheets.
Precision Measurement: Use micrometers, dial bore gauges, and calipers to verify clearances.
Performance Tuning: Operate engine dynamometers (dynos) and use EFI tuning software to validate performance and optimize output. Not necessary, but a plus.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Must have experience in American Muscle engine building, this is not an entry level position. We are looking for someone who can jump right in after a brief familiarization period with the shop manager.
Tool Proficiency: Expert use of precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
Certifications: ASE certifications (A1, A8, L1) are highly preferred. Specialized training from institutions like SAM Tech is a major plus, but none of this is required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods in a hands-on shop environment.

Extreme Attention to Detail: Commitment to "zero-defect" assembly and meticulous record-keeping.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and propose innovative design tweaks.

*Automotive Remanufacturing QA Expert for ATK Remanufacturing*

This person would act as a quality liaison between Parts Suppliers, LKQ Remanufacturing Plants, ATK and its customers. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in the remanufacturing of one or several of the following automotive components:
Engines, Transmissions, Differentials, Hybrid cells.
This SQA Engineer will support our plants in consistently meeting quality goals with a strong focus on continuous improvement, waste/ scrap reduction, and the implementation of best practices to lower failure rates (PBI) and warranty costs.
Preferred background includes knowledge of and contacts with:
Automotive industrial equipment manufacturers (brands like Sunnen, Goff, Serdi, etc),
CNC and IoT machining centers (Carmec, Haas, Rottler, RMC, etc)
Auto parts suppliers (like Durabond, Dorman, Federal Mogul, Mahle, EPC, Melling, etc)
ISO-9001/ IATF 16949 registrars
Key responsibilities include:
· Conducting process, system, and product audits at our remanufacturing plants.
· Supporting supplier development, including containment, corrective, and preventive actions
· Assisting plants in evaluating and monitoring auto parts suppliers
