Hunger Ends Here – To ensure no one in our community goes hungry The Elkhart County Food Collaborative is a partnership of nonprofit organizations united by one mission: to ensure no one in our community goes hungry. By pooling resources, sharing ideas, and working side-by-side, we’re tackling food insecurity with the strength that comes from working together.

We greatly appreciate the congregation of First Mennonite Church of Middlebury for collecting items to restock our pantry and baby room. Your generosity helps us continue providing services to all of our guests.

Because of your generosity, families experiencing homelessness have a safe place to stay, warm meals to eat, and hope for a brighter future. We are so grateful for the incredible support our community continues to show First Light Mission.

These everyday items may seem small, but they make a huge difference in helping us provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for the families we serve.

This week we had the privilege of being selected for Edward Jones Day of Caring, bringing in their Financial Advisors and office staff from across Elkhart County and St. Joseph County. They worked hard and spruced up our entry way, cleaned up outside areas, organized diaper room, painted and added shelving in both our community room and conference room, added shelves down our hallway for guests bags, painted staff bathroom, painted ceiling in laundry room, painted a mural in our hallway, hung new windows coverings and completely redone our clothing closet. We are very thankful for them and all the hardwork they put into making our shelter better.

Today we celebrate hope, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings. At FLM, we are reminded daily that even in the hardest seasons, brighter days are ahead.

One of the greatest moments for everyone here at FLM is when a family moves into their own place. Getting invited over to see it mostly set up makes it even better. Thanks to all the donors that make furnishing their places so easy.

We are greatly appreciative of these last two groups from Grace Community Church Women's Bible Study that spent their Saturday to help us finish sorting and organizing our big mound of donations. We can't do what we do without our volunteers and community!

We want to thank these three amazing women from Grace Community Church who came to help us sort more clothing and brought some new things for the shelter guests. We appreciate all your help.
