Vigor Strength Studio welcomes HJ Tuplin to the coaching team!
Haley-Jane Tuplin (better known as HJ) began lifting in her teenage years but truly found her passion for strength training after it was introduced during physical therapy following multiple injuries. What started as part of rehabilitation quickly turned into a serious pursuit of strength and performance.
HJ began competing in powerlifting in 2023 and went on to earn a national title in the T3 65kg class, while also holding the T3/Junior 65kg USA Powerlifting state records for both the bench press and deadlift. After several years in powerlifting, she transitioned into the world of bodybuilding and is currently preparing to compete in the bikini division.
HJ is also a collegiate field hockey player at the University of Southern Maine and coaches club field hockey athletes when she’s not training. Outside of the gym and field, you can find her snowboarding, hiking, going to concerts, enjoying good food, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
We are excited to have a driven individual like her on the team who eats, breathes, and sleeps training!
We love being able to offer high-quality supplements to our clients at an affordable cost. To help us continue doing that, please write down the supplements you take on the whiteboard. This helps us maintain inventory and ensure items are getting charged correctly. We appreciate your help!

Coaching is a skill, and it takes practice to do it well.
Some of the best coaches know how to:
1. Observe behavior without judging it.
2. Change behaviors in a way that builds confidence.
3. Push you without breaking you.
4. Remain organized to keep you progressing.
5. Read you, to know where you are emotionally and physically.
6. Communicate clearly and concisely.
7. Remain curious rather than certain.
8. Remain relevant by being in constant study.
9. Love their craft and their students.
10. Approach coaching as the ultimate responsibility and opportunity to change the lives of those they coach.

Many people say they want to do better, change and achieve something greater than their current situation.
Few people are more committed to those ambitions than they are to their current habits and comforts.

Learn how to move correctly: feel the proper muscles work at the appropriate times. Exercise is never just brainlessly moving your joints from point A to B.
If you don’t feel the muscles, the exercise is not working. Unfortunately, that means you are wasting time. Feeling muscle will never be automatic.
A coach can help dial you in. We use our eyes, along with your verbal feedback to steer you in the best direction.
Send us a DM or email at [email protected] to get started!

"Strength reveals itself through character. Strength is kindness and sensitivity.
Strength is understanding that your power is both physical and emotional. That it comes from the body and the mind. And the heart.
The iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it’s impossible to turn back."
- Excerpts from Iron and the Soul, written in the 1980's by Henry Rollins in Details Magazine (also lead singer of Black Flag)

No one wants to step in a puddle and workout in wet socks. Please be courteous and enter through the garage and leave any outside shoes in there.
