Next stop in our World Music Adventure: Spain! 🇪🇸🎵

Decorating Castanets!Students learned about castanets, a traditional percussion instrument often associated with Spanish music and dance.

Then they got creative decorating their own castanets, which would later become an important part of our Morocco activities! (Stay tuned for pics)

A little music, a little art, and a lot of creativity made for a wonderful adventure. 🎨✨

A World Music Adventure is always more fun when there's a birthday to celebrate! 🎂🎉

We took a short break from our musical travels to celebrate one of our campers on their special day. From games and music to birthday wishes and smiles, it was a wonderful way to make camp memories together.

We are kicking off our summer piano challenges this week!

🎹 Log into Practice Space for all the challenge details! You have until June 23rd to complete this challenge before a new challenge is released.

Remember, you will receive 20 gems for completing this challenge PLUS any practice gems you earn for practicing. PLUS when you complete at least 3 summer piano challenges by July 31st, you will be entered into a special prize drawing!

🎹 This Wednesday, summer piano challenge #1 will go live! Check inside Practice Space (under Challenges) for what the challenge will be!

A new challenge will be released each Wednesday over a 6-week span (ending mid-July). Students will have until the end of July to submit their videos.

Students will earn practice space gems for each challenge completed PLUS when students complete 3 or more challenges, they will be entered into a prize drawing!

Our World Music Adventure took us to the Netherlands, where students put their rhythm skills to work in a game called Windmill Rhythms! 🇳🇱🎵

Students spun through a variety of musical challenges, including:
🌷 Naming the missing beat
🌷 Identifying the time signature
🌷 Adding up the beats
🌷 Clapping rhythm patterns

From counting and listening to performing and problem-solving, students had a blast strengthening their rhythm skills.

As part of our World Music Adventure Camp, students had the opportunity to learn the basics of playing the ocarina! 🎶

The ocarina is a unique wind instrument, often called a vessel flute, and has been played in cultures around the world for centuries. Students enjoyed exploring its distinctive sound while learning a few simple melodies of their own.
