An emo band from Goleta/Santa Barbara, CA, Stratego existed from 1996 - 2000.
We played dozens of shows across the U.S., recorded 2 albums and appeared on numerous comps and made countless friends in the hardcore community.
Finally decided to try to make more of our music available to anyone who cares. Look for the "Fife and Drum Corps" CD and a collection of "Odds and Ends" on Bandcamp. Still working on getting these on Spotify, now that we supposedly have over 1,000 monthly listeners. The internet is cool.

75% of a Stratego reunion at the Goleta Farmers Market!
100 likes! It may not seem like much in the days of pop stars with millions of followers, but for a little-known emo band that existed only in the early days of the internet, it's pretty nice. We were part of a close-knit community in the Goleta/Isla Vista/Santa Barbara Hardcore Scene and it's wonderful to feel like we still are 20 years later. Thanks everybody! (Andres Fraire, when will The Omission be back on the radio for a triumphant reunion show?) ;)
Just 18 short years after Stratego played our first show ever at the Ex-Ignota House, I'll be seeing that night's headliner, Mineral, at The Glass House Concert Hall tomorrow night. Should be a trip...
