Happy Saturday!! Make sure to spend some time with furry family members around you!
It was a busy day today! Some wrestling after breakfast in the morning, new collars, a long nap, some lunch followed by more wrestling and play. Then a trip the vet for first vaccinations, followed by a long nap. Then some play in the grass with Mama and exploring their new wading pool, followed by a big dinner. Eating, playing, sleeping, and growing!!
Puppies at Large!! Second car ride and first winery visit! It’s hard work to socialize these guys, but it does make them better pups who are socially adjusted. Carr Winery
It was the perfect afternoon for a nap…at least for most of our litter 😉
Our Papa Tucker is so tolerant and unflappable that he makes a great new dog introduction for our pups. [sound on]
We get him in the play area around four weeks to help the puppies learn there are dogs other than Mama, and they don’t offer milk, try as the pups might. Here Tucker is pretty tolerant but offers some constructive growling as the pups go a little far. This helps them learn the warning cues from other dogs.
Happy 4th (week) to these little pups. Today they celebrated with some food and time with Papa Tucker in the beautiful weather. Yesterday they had a chance to explore a plastic bottle and today they found a bucket in their play area. New things and new experiences!!

Some photo highlights from Day 14! These lil’ pups are starting to see light and shadows as their little eyes slowly open this week.
These lil’uns are so close to walking and seeing! They’re working on their leg strength all the time and following their noses and their developing sense of smell

What a big week for our little puppies. In just a few days, they’ve gone from little pink noses to actual coloring. They’re working on standing and building muscle strength in their legs. In the next few days, their eyes will open and they’ll start toddling around the whelping box. When they sleep, their muscles twitch to help them strengthen.
We’ve begun introducing scents to the pups each day to stimulate their olfactory nerves. Yesterday was peanut butter and today was fresh limes.
Stay tuned for updates and be sure to share this post with anyone who would love some extra cuteness in their day!
