Here at Santa Barbara Eyecare, in both locations, we pride ourselves on having the most advanced technology in Ophthalmology and Optometry. With these instruments, we can detect even the earliest signs of eye diseases and provide the best treatments.

The instrument pictured is called an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) we use this non-invasive imaging test to detect macular degeneration, glaucoma, and other corneal diseases. This is one of our more common tests- you have probably seen it in the office!

Most people are aware of how harmful UV radiation is to the skin. However, many may not realize that UV radiation can harm the eyes. Therefore, whenever you spend time outdoors, wear quality sunglasses that offer UV protection and a hat or cap with a wide brim. Also, certain contact lenses we carry in the office can provide additional UV protection.
