Bishop Carroll knocks off Spring Hill to advance to the 5A State Softball Semifinals.

Bishop Carroll is headed back to the 5A state softball tournament as the Golden Eagles continue to show why they are annually one of the premier programs in Kansas.

Carroll punched its ticket to state with a 5-0 regional championship victory over Seaman behind another dominant outing from Allyson Orth. Orth tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits while keeping Seaman off the scoreboard all night.

The Golden Eagles jumped ahead in the first inning on a Paige Stroot RBI groundout before breaking the game open in the third. Stroot delivered a two-run single and Emerson May followed with a two-run home run to center field as Carroll built a comfortable lead.

Keira Stripling led the offense with three hits, while Orth added two hits at the plate. Carroll once again played clean defensively without committing an error.

The Golden Eagles have been balanced all season long, entering state at 25-3 with one of the deepest lineups and pitching staffs in 5A.

Stripling has been one of the top players in Kansas this spring, batting .571 with 44 hits while also going 12-1 in the circle with 83 strikeouts. Orth has added a huge year both offensively and in the circle, batting .533 while posting a 9-1 pitching record with a 0.00 ERA across 37 innings pitched.

Carroll’s lineup has produced throughout the order:
• Paige Stroot batting .519
• Kiersten Jones with 36 hits
• Siena Ensz with 36 hits
• Emerson May batting .468 with a .758 slugging percentage
• Sydney Domebo hitting .443

Bishop Carroll once again enters the state tournament as one of the major contenders in 5A.
