We are a non-partisan volunteer committee whose purpose is to identify, endorse, and assist residents who wish to run for elected office.
Formed in 1913, the Glen Ridge Civic Conference Committee (CCC) is a non-partisan volunteer committee which seeks out and endorses residents who wish to serve Glen Ridge in elective positions (the Board of Education, Borough Council, and Mayor). The CCC publicizes its endorsement and assists the candidates in navigating the election process. The CCC also organizes forums in which residents may learn about Glen Ridge elective positions. The CCC has no policies or positions for a candidate to support, and seeks to endorse candidates who, in its judgment, possess necessary skills and qualifications, and are primarily motivated by a desire to serve the Glen Ridge community as a whole and on a non-partisan basis. The CCC’s membership consists of Glen Ridge residents. The CCC seeks a membership that is a broad representation of Glen Ridge, and welcomes residents who wish to join. Qualifications for membership include being eligible to vote in Glen Ridge, a willingness to contribute to the activities and mission of the CCC, and a willingness to make endorsement decisions in the best interests of Glen Ridge as a whole.

The Glen Ridge CCC endorses Darleen L. Gearhart, Jocelyn Gottlieb, and Gil Maddock for Board of Education.
The Glen Ridge CCC endorses David Lefkovits and LoriJeane Moody for Borough Council.

If you’re ready to help build a stronger, more resilient borough — and you bring professional skills and a collaborative approach — we encourage you to complete the Candidate Information Form https://bit.ly/CCC2026Candidate by April 3, 2026.
The CCC is a non-partisan, volunteer committee made up of Glen Ridge residents representing a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and perspectives. Each spring, the committee interviews interested candidates in April, votes on endorsements in May, and supports endorsed candidates through the process of appearing on the Essex County Board of Elections ballot for the November 2026 election.
The CCC does not promote specific policies or political positions. Instead, we seek to identify and endorse candidates who demonstrate strong qualifications, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to serving Glen Ridge in a thoughtful, non-partisan way. It is not necessary to be endorsed by the CCC to run for office. If an individual chooses to run for office who has not been endorsed by the CCC, we welcome their candidacy and that person can obtain petition information from the Borough and Board of Ed Administrative offices.
