Today, we honor Juneteenth — a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing pursuit of freedom, justice, and equity.

As social workers, we are called to confront systems of oppression, advocate for human rights, and help build communities where every person has the opportunity to thrive.

Juneteenth is both a celebration of resilience and a call to action. Let us continue the work of advancing racial justice, amplifying marginalized voices, and creating a more equitable future for all.

The National Association of Social Workers–Texas (NASW-TX) is leading efforts to explore the need to develop a Spanish-language Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) examination. As part of this work, NASW-TX is seeking input from social workers across the United States to better understand the landscape of Spanish-language social work practice.

We encourage all social workers, educators, supervisors, and students to participate and share the survey with their professional networks. Your feedback will help ensure that future decisions are informed by the experiences and perspectives of the social work community nationwide.

The survey is available in English and Spanish and they ask that all responses be submitted by July 31.
