Tornado Warning in southern Manitoba including Steinbach and areas southeast of Winnipeg. Dangerous storms capable of producing tornadoes and large hail are moving through the region. Residents in warned areas should seek shelter immediately and remain weather aware.

Few storms capable of 55 mph winds west of Lubbock Texas

Tornado watch, including parts of Kansas and Nebraska

Tornado watch including parts of Kansas, and primarily Colorado 

Secondary area for possible, isolated tornadoes today. Primarily west of Wichita. Given today’s massive CAPE of almost 5000 Energy and instability will not be an issue. The wind profiles seems to be rather on the low side, a few tornadoes could still be possible

Todays primary area for tornado chances primarily, including, Southeast Colorado.

6300 j/kg CAPE, and 37 mph southwestern should lead to very strong storms and possible tornados 

SEVERE WEATHER SETUP – Monday June 8th

Storm mode may feature semi-discrete or discrete supercells, which could support a localized severe weather threat.

Instability will be elevated, with CAPE around 4300 J/kg.
Southwesterly wind shear around 20 to 23 mph may support storms capable of producing large hail

Main threats include:
– Large hail up to 2.0 inches
– Damaging winds up to 60 mph
– Tornadoes are possible, but currently appear unlikely

The cap may suppress storm development early, but any storms that do form could strengthen quickly.
