As fall turns to winter, when foliage has turned and flowers have fallen, the lovely rose displays its elegant blooms for a final moment in time.

With giant heart shaped leaves, a fragrance of lemon, and white orchid like flowers splashed with shades of yellow and purple, I am mesmerized by the magical beauty of the Catalpa Tree Blooms.

Nestled down in the tall grass, this lovely Venus Looking Glass turns toward the rising sun. So small, one must look closely to even notice this dazzling beauty queen.

The lovely Lavender Bloom sparkles in a world of lights, and glass, and marble.

In the Golden Hour a warm glow illuminates one of Four Corners.

In Sulfur Meadow the mighty Catalpa Tree greets the morning sun rising up from the bottoms below.

In the morning light, down along Apricot Road, between a fence line and a drainage ditch I go to gather a bouquet made of wildflowers and grasses.

In early spring, at first light, Four Corners West displays its secluded magic to the world. Residing in a rural East Texas pasture, illuminated by the warm glow of the rising sun, this magical living corner harbors both grass and flower.

These are blooms from a forgotten group of roses, choked by weeds, splashed with herbicide and relegated to the burn pile. With spade in hand, I came along and rescued these dynamic beauties and gave them a second chance to rule the kingdom of flowers with their noble blossoms.

At daybreak, the rising sun shines through the branches of a fallen pecan tree. Felled by winds, and storms, and time, this mighty State Tree of Texas now lays at rest still providing safe shelter for all creatures great and small.
