Going with the flow...

Sometimes life throws curveballs at you and forces you to slow down. Take a moment to enjoy the little things and learn to relax and realize things sometimes get stressful and hectic. I sure enjoyed cuddling with her in the waiting room.

In case you’re wondering, she is handling this like a champ. No tears. We have an appointment with cousin Joe later this afternoon.

You've earned it!

Go get yourself some ice cream today to celebrate whatever you have been working on. Splurge a little on the toppings or enjoy it plain if that is your thing. Life is hard. Self-care and rewards are the cherry on top. So, whatever you have been doing, reward yourself.

What's your favorite ice cream or place to grab a cone?

What's your favorite type of chocolate (or brand of chocolate)?

It's no secret! We are moving from Gillette and our house is up for sale. Please take a minute to SHARE this post and help us find the right buyer(s).

Our home is a little over 3600 sq. ft. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 2 half baths. It is a walk-out basement, which means that it is three stories in the back. I wish I could pick up this house and plop it down in Afton, but I cannot.

The things I love most about this house (and that convinced me I wanted it in the first place) are:

1. The mudroom. It is between the garage and kitchen with the laundry off to the side. No more basement laundry rooms; you get an entire room instead of a small closet for all those winter coats.

2. The backyard. It is beautifully landscaped with a variety of mature foliage. The pond is so relaxing with the waterfall and long creek that leads to it. Surprisingly, the pond is not as high maintenance as most think. The koi live in it year-round. We just disconnect the waterfall and allow the pump to run in the main part of the pond so that the water keeps moving and doesn't totally freeze over.

3. The kitchen. It features two large pantries on either side of the fridge with pull-out shelving. In fact, all the lower cabinets have pull-outs except the corner cabinets. There is a ton of storage in the kitchen. There is also a bread cabinet and it has an outlet in it. No more toaster on the counter! Just leave it plugged in, drag it out when needed, and slide it back into the cabinet.

4. The sheer size. This house has two living rooms and a den off the kitchen with a fireplace. There is more than enough room to get away from each other OR be cozy.

5. The floor plan. Our floor plan is unique. It is not an open concept, yet it is open enough to not feel isolated. I love the catwalk and the fact that the kitchen is not immediately visible from the front door.

6. The master bathroom. We redid this bathroom a year or so ago and it has been amazing! Just take a look at the picture and you will see why.

7. The neighbors are amazing! They are friendly, caring, and will help you out at moment’s notice. We are almost like a big family on this street.

If you have read this far, thank you for sticking with me. As most of you know, Wayne is already moved out to Afton (since March) and we are VERY motivated to get this house sold so that we can close on the new home and all be under the same roof again by the end of summer. In fact, we've already dropped the price by $30,000.

I sincerely hope you are enjoying the day with family, by yourself, with friends, or however you choose.

Easter is my favorite holiday.

As a child, it meant heading to the ranch, praying there was no wind and that the sun would be out because the Easter Bunny always brought us kites to fly. On the drive, my brothers and I would devise strategies on how we would win the Easter egg hunt. As the car made its way into the yard, our eagle eyes were looking for one of the dozens of hidden eggs. Sometimes we spotted a few. Sometimes we saw nothing. But the car always stopped at the front door to usher us into the house as quickly as possible to ensure no cheating ensued.

Once everyone was there, the three of us and our cousins were let loose to find eggs. It was so much fun! But, we also had to be a little careful as sometimes there were eggs that had never been found from the year before. I remember running along the back of my great-grandmother's house with my hand in the gutter one year. I ran into a year old egg, which immediately imploded. The stench from that thing was enough to curl your nose hairs!

Rest assured, I have never run my hand blindly in a gutter again...

What are some of your favorite memories from Easter?

Did you know this? For those of you who don’t know, my first degree is a B.S. in Printing. Sounds a bit obscure, doesn’t it? I assure you, it’s a real degree, even if I was one of the last 10 students to earn it before they decided to no longer offer it…Go Lions! ♥️ Texas A&M University-Commerce

Went to the Rockpile last night. For those who don’t know, it’s our local museum. It’s nice to see they still have my grandfather’s painting on display. ♥️ Rockpile Museum
