Today we received a thoughtful gift from a new business, 307 Gather & Graze Co. , who recently reached out to us for advice on transporting refrigerated products over long distances.

A little over a week ago, they contacted us about an out of town event they were hoping to book. We were more than happy to share some of the knowledge we’ve gained over the years and even offered to loan them some equipment and refrigeration to help make it happen. Although the event ultimately didn’t work out, they stopped by our shop today with a beautiful grazing box as a thank-you gesture (and yes, they’re available for Father’s Day pre-orders by June 14!).

Their kindness and appreciation for something we were happy to do meant a lot to us.

Small businesses thrive on referrals, word of mouth, networking, and the willingness of others to lend a helping hand. Throughout our journey, we’ve been fortunate to receive guidance, advice, and support from many people, and we’ve never forgotten those who helped us grow into what we are today.

That’s why we will always be willing to help fellow business owners whenever we can. Over the years, we’ve promoted many small businesses on our Buddy Board, collaborated with businesses both inside and outside our industry, and even shared ingredients with fellow bakers when they found themselves in a pinch. We truly believe there is room for everyone to succeed.

Original ideas are rare these days, and most businesses are inspired by something that came before them. Instead of viewing one another as competitors, we should see each other as allies. When schedules are full, referrals help everyone. When challenges arise, advice and support can make all the difference. Building someone else’s business up doesn’t take anything away from your own, it strengthens the entire small business community.
