We had an eventful time trying to get to the track on Friday. We left Gillette about 3pm got to buffalo and the car started to over heat. Corey checked it out and the water pump was bad. He got it all fixed and Guns tells him if we leave now we can still make it lol. We got to the track at 3 am. That being said Corey didn’t have the energy to race but he did test and tune. Sunday he entered super pro class and went out second round with a r/t of .005 smoked the tires stabbed it again but couldn’t catch back up.

Guns had a fun weekend. Saturday he went out first round with a red light and a break out. Sunday we got one round of qualifying due to bad weather coming in. As we lined up we got a head wind the slowed him a tenth of a second causing a loss.

It’s going to be another great day!

What a great day to be racing! Nothing beats the smell of race fuel and burning rubber.

June is a busy month out at Yellowstone Drag Strip! This weekend we kick things off with our first Street Car Friday Night followed up with all of our Bracket Classes Saturday and Sunday.

Just a reminder for Friday Night. Test & Tune is open to everyone. You do not have to be a Street Car to run Test and Tune. If you are entering into one of the Friday Night Bracket Classes ( ET Street, Import, Stick Shift or Pick-Up ) your car must be Street Legal and a true Street Car. You cannot run a transbrake in any of these classes. All cars must be licensed and insured, working headlights and taillights, full interior, exhaust, etc.

Heads Up Street Cars. We are trying to build this class and hope to see participation grow. Current Rules for Heads Up. Again, must be a True Street Car, not a race car you can drive on the street. Must have mostly factory body panels, must have interior ( a single race seat does not count ), must be licensed and insured with working headlights and taillights. We will allow slicks and transbrakes in this class. Basic thoughts... could your car make the Big Sky Race Week drive and if you get pulled over would you be legal...? Lets keep this class fun!

Saturday will feature the Big Sky Collision Quick 8 class. The fastest racing in Montana!

3 rounds of qualifying scheduled for Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

Spectator Fee is $20 per day or $50 for the full 3 day weekend. Tailgating is only an additional $10 per vehicle for each day!

See everyone at the track this weekend for 3 days of Drag Racing action!

Hot mess Saturday we found out Corey is major claustrophobic. Getting in and staying put in the rail was rough. Sitting in staging lanes in and out trying to make a pass (I don’t have the sympathy, just get in and go attitude). Went back to trailer working on it, our neighbor Richard was a great help for Corey. Corey got it together and made his first pass to start licensing!

Saturday was a hot mess from first daylight guns missed first round of qualifying due to mom getting sent on a wild goose chase to town and Corey having a lot to do. We added 75lbs of weight to slow guns down. First round of elimination guns dialed a 7.90 broke out with a 7.898. Ugh so close but so far away!
