Mugsy Dogs Doug Jones, the owner of Mugsy Dogs, sold his previous business in 2014 and found himself looking for a new business venture.
His wife, Marti, was out of town and dined at a restaurant that sold hot dogs and loved the idea that she called Doug and presented him the idea of starting his own hot dog shop. Doug, with his two sons, Nathan and Kevin, went to work creating a great restaurant concept with a delicious menu and a fun, retro atmosphere. The name Mugsy was chosen because that was Doug’s nickname while he attended high school in Phoenix, Arizona. That is how Mugsy Dogs came about.
