Anchor Church Gilbert
We are a growing non-denominational church in Gilbert, AZ that began in August, 2019. We love the Bible, life together, and reaching the community.
We partner with the Acts 29 network of churches. Come and check us out!
Jesus is a better Priest because He has a better ministry.
His work isn’t rooted in an earthly tabernacle, a temporary system, or a broken world.
His ministry is heavenly.
Right now, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, reigning, interceding, and mediating for His people.
The old priests stood because their work was never finished.
Jesus sat down because it was.
Why do we keep trying to be our own priest?
Trying to fix ourselves.
Trying to carry our guilt.
Trying to earn what He already purchased.
You don’t need another priest.
You already have a permanent one.
Jesus doesn’t just forgive your sins.
He takes you by the hand and brings you into the presence of God.
Your greatest problem isn’t stress, insecurity, or unmet dreams.
Your greatest problem is sin.
And sinners cannot approach a holy God without a priest.
We need atonement.
We need reconciliation.
We need someone to stand in our place.
And here’s the good news: Jesus is that Priest.
Not just any priest—the perfect and eternal High Priest who removes our sin and brings us to God.
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul.” — Hebrews 6:19
This is why we’re called Anchor Church.
Our hope isn’t fragile.
It doesn’t fade when life gets hard.
It doesn’t disappear when suffering comes.
Because our hope is anchored to a living Savior.
As long as Jesus lives, your hope lives.
And Jesus will never die again.
No one drifts on purpose.
We just stop paying attention.
Spiritual drift is subtle.
You think you’re standing still… but you’re slowly moving.
And Hebrews is clear:
There’s no neutral in the Christian life.
You’re either growing—or drifting toward danger.
So pay attention. Lean in. Don’t coast.
When God calls you to obey, what rises up?
Resistance? Control? Hesitation?
Or a humble prayer:
“Lord, I need You. Help me obey.”
That’s not weakness—that’s worship.
Because real obedience flows from dependence, not self-reliance.
You don’t have a Savior who pushes you away in weakness.
You have one who moves toward you.
Jesus doesn’t just understand from a distance—
He sympathizes.
He’s felt the weight. He knows the struggle.
And in your weakness, He doesn’t respond with frustration…
but with compassion.
So don’t pull back.
Come to Him.
God’s Word doesn’t just examine what you do—
it exposes why you do it.
It reaches past behavior into motives.
Past actions into thoughts.
That’s why Jesus says it’s not just what happens outwardly—
it’s what’s happening inside.
Even something good like generosity…
God sees the heart behind it.
