here are 2 reasons fall is the perfect time to hike to Fossil Springs: 1. the temps are still warm enough to swim, but cool enough to comfortably hike in. 2. starting October 1st, you don’t need a permit to visit. yes, that’s right! from October 1st to April 1st, a permit is not required to hike here. since it’s off season, it’ll likely be less busy, too! win-win! TRAIL DETAILS: 📍to reach this waterfall, you’ll want to take the Bob Bear Trail. this is an 8.4 mile round trip hike (4.2 miles each way) with 1522 ft of elevation. it’ll definitely get your attention. you’ll want to bring plenty of water, electrolytes and snacks to help keep you going. make sure to stop at the underground spring along the way! 🚗to get directions to the trailhead, type in ‘fossil springs trailhead parking.’ there are vault toilets and trash receptacles located in the parking lot. dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash. high clearance is not needed to reach the trailhead. *please note that this trait does not reach the “famous” waterfall, that is a separate trail called the Dixon Lewis Trail. if you visit, always remember to pack out your trash and be respectful of other hikers. be safe and have fun! who’s down to go? 🙋🏼‍♀️ 🍁expect to see fall colors in this area late October to early November. #fossilsprings #bobbeartrail #strawberryaz #waterfallhike #arizonahiddengems #explorearizona #naturephotography #roamtheplanet
