“Awakening 2,” the second piece in a series, arose from an intuitive journey. The process began with black graphite lines and then a layer of blue. More colors—luscious teal blue and profound red—were layered across the surface using squeegees and brayers without a plan for the outcome. This spiritual and intuitive process allows the artwork to undergo its awakening, a reflection of the artist’s path. Red-violet tones emerged in the blend.
Ultimately, the artwork revealed itself through a delicate subtraction process—employing solvents. Subtle traces of black from the underlying strata emerged, infusing the piece with a captivating mystery and a depth that draws the viewer in. It is reminiscent of celestial nebulae in the vast expanse of deep space. Interestingly, even the artist is charmed by the sudden emergence of the cosmic resemblance.
