Community Screening: Recovery City
Path to Peace, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit dedicated to trauma-informed recovery and community healing, is hosting a community screening of Recovery City, a powerful documentary exploring addiction, recovery, and the systems that influence long-term stability.
Founded on the belief that recovery is not one-size-fits-all, Path to Peace focuses on trauma, substance use, mental health, and housing instability—barriers that often prevent sustainable healing. Recovery City aligns directly with this mission by centering lived experience while examining structural challenges such as housing insecurity, limited resources, and fragmented systems of care.
This is about more than watching a film, Path to Peace leadership notes. “It’s about fostering honest dialogue, reducing stigma, and recognizing recovery as a shared community responsibility rooted in dignity, accountability, and support.”
The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion on trauma-informed care, recovery pathways, housing stability, and local solutions. The event is open to community members, professionals, individuals in recovery, families, and anyone interested in strengthening Monroe County’s recovery ecosystem.

Despite working on Christmas eve to try to get the paper out by the 1st, the holidays mixed with the weather created a longer delay than anticipated.
