The profits of Friends Place Bookstore finance additional library services that are not part of the general library budget. The summer reading program has historically received the majority of these funds. We also support Gilbert's School libraries. Each year we give up to ten $1,000 scholarships and one Al and Donna Petersen memorial scholarship of $1,500 to high school seniors who currently reside in the Town of Gilber or attend a Gilbert High School. HOW DO WE DO THIS? We accomplish this with an all volunteer staff who dedicate over 6200 hours each year. Donations of books and media from the surrounding communities has help raise thousands of dollars for our libraries. Please consider becoming a volunteer at Friends Place Bookstore.
