Robert Rice Elementary School

We’re so thankful to be featured by the Blue Watermelon Project! 💚We can’t wait to see what delicious creations our fourth graders cook up next!

A little Disney magic to hold us over until we’re back together! ✨

We hope everyone is having a magical fall break—we can’t wait to see you NEXT WEEK! 💚🦏

EXCITING NEWS, RHINOS!

For the second year in a row, we are thrilled to receive the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation Grant!🎉This year, we were awarded $5,000—the largest grant amount available—to support our school garden program! We’re incredibly grateful to Sprouts for investing in our students and our garden.

Thank you to Ms. Fogleman our “Garden Fairy”, STUCO, mascot, and cheer team for bringing the Rhino spirit to last Saturday’s in-store celebration!

Here’s to another year of growing, learning, and thriving! 💚

👩‍🍳🥔 This month's Blue Watermelon Project turned our 4th graders into culinary experts!

Using a recipe from Chef Doug Robson, students learned how to make Dauphinois Potatoes, a classic French dish dating back to the 1800s. They practiced measuring, cutting, and preparing ingredients before setting their dish up for a slow two-hour bake.

The best part? Tasting their hard work! After enjoying a warm bowl of Dauphinois Potatoes, students wrote reviews for the chef.

Their final rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A five-star success and a delicious lesson in cooking, history, and teamwork!

👀✨ Buddy Art Fun! ✨👀

Last week, buddies from Mrs. Jacob’s (Mrs. Foutch’s) class teamed up with Mrs. McHugh’s class for some creative fun! 🎨💫 Each buddy pair was given just two eyes to get started—and then their imaginations took over! Thanks to Mrs. VDB and Mrs. Zylstra for the great idea!!

It was so much fun watching our buddies create, collaborate, laugh, and enjoy time together! ❤️ We loved seeing all the unique and adorable artwork that came to life! 🖍️🎨

🍂 Happy Fall Break, Rhinos! 🍁

Wishing all of our wonderful families and staff a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled Fall Break! We hope you enjoy some well-deserved time to rest, recharge, and make special memories with the people you love. 🧡

We’ll miss seeing our Rhinos around campus, but we’ll be ready to welcome everyone back refreshed and excited for all that’s ahead!

Have a fantastic Fall Break! 🍁🦏💛

Wait… are we seeing double?! Here’s a peek into our spirit week!🦏⭐️

Thursday brought double the fun, double the smiles, and double the spirit for TWIN DAY! We love getting to show our school spirit the last week before fall break! We will miss our Rhinos!

A DAY AT BIZTOWN! 💼

Yesterday, our students stepped into the shoes of real-world professionals and experienced what it’s like to be part of a community!

At BizTown, students took on careers, worked at local businesses, earned a paycheck, managed their money, and made real-world decisions—all while practicing teamwork, communication, and leadership!

Big dreams. Real-world skills. Future leaders in the making! 💚

Congratulations to Bryndee Green for being selected as the August Student Citizen of the Month for the Town of Gilbert! 💙💚

Bryndee was nominated by Miss Andersen because she always shows our RISE expectations and is such a kind and wonderful friend to her classmates.

She was presented with her award by Gilbert Mayor Scott Anderson.

We are so proud of you, Bryndee! Great job!

❤️🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11 at Rice Elementary 🇺🇸❤️

This morning at Rice, we gathered for a beautiful ceremony honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, 25 years ago.

Robert Rice and Mrs. Bohlig shared thoughtful and meaningful speeches, reminding us of the importance of remembering, honoring, and coming together. It was especially moving to hear our students and staff stand together and proudly say the Pledge of Allegiance.

Today, we remember. Today, we honor. Today, we stand together. 🇺🇸❤️
