Bounmy comes from very humble beginnings. Born in Vientiene Laos in 1960 to a large low income family in Laos. Eventually immigrated as a refuse from the Vietnam war to the United States of America in 1978. Being a low income family, traditionally cooking your own food is the only option, so we had no choice but to make our own sauces and evolve them to what you’ll taste today.

LIU SAYASY(THE OG):

Much of Bounmy’s inspiration and experience comes from Liu(her Mother in Law). Due to the Vietnam war, becoming a widow at a young age in her marriage - she worked hard to provide a source of income for our family. She did it the best way she knew how - cooking! Every day Liu would head to the market in Vientiene to offer her delicious sauces to the public and making enough to keep the family together. Eventually getting a lucky break to head for the promise land - America. She brought her authentic cooking style and passed it down to Bounmy to continue the legacy.
