Sept. 7th the Post conducted a field trip to the Olympia Flight Museum.

We met at the hangar and seven members traveled by car pool as the ceilings were too low for flight. We maintained our planned departure arrival times on both ends. We had a Eagle Scout assigned as our docent. He was very well informed and did an excellent job of conducting the tour and providing in-depth and relevant information
about the exhibits.
Attached are some of the photos.

Special thanks to committee member Earl Miller for assisting.

Aviation Explorer
Post 1735 field trip to the Kapowsin Air Sports jump school
located at Shelton airport.

The explorers flew over in two aircraft. In addition to the flight over
and back the explorers talked on the radio with the control tower.

They also got to observe the jumpers preparing their flying
suits and parachutes. They viewed videos of actual jumps, toured the
facilities, and learned details related to chute packing and jumping.

They also got a tour of the several aircraft used to transport jumpers
and the transport trailer used to return jumpers to the base from the
landing spot on the field. While on site they observed two jump
groups skydiving from about twelve thousand feet above the flied.
The tour was led by Jessie Farrington a co-owner and a jumper with
competitive jump experience world wide.
