Today, we celebrate freedom and honor the resilience and strength of Black Americans. On this day in 1865, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas learned of their liberation.
This , join us in honoring and remembering all those who gave their lives while serving this great nation. Please pause for a moment of silence today at 3 p.m. for the National Moment of Remembrance.
