RedBuck Guest House
"Bed and Breakfast; You Make 'em Both!" Reserve your stay in this Pre-Civil War residence, within walking distance to everything Gettysburg!
A life-long dream of owning a Civil War era home has come true...and we can't wait to share it with you. The home was built in 1834, and has witnessed the amazing history of Gettysburg. We are the 17th owner of this 180+ year old home and invite you to follow our journey to share it as a "Guest House" (better than a hotel, not as formal as a BnB). There are 3 rentable rooms, each with a private ba
Dear RedBuck friends; Somehow in the midst of the pandemic, I failed to renew the Domain of the RedBuck Guest House Website....and a foreign malware captured my site/address. SO, don't visit the official website, unless you're into real cheesy sites you probably can't even translate!😱 and, so the email listed here is also inactive. I'll figure out how to edit this FB page & remove the URL/email, but if you saved these in your "favorites", please remove them.
If you had not heard, my husband of 34 years & best friend, Tom, lost his battle with heart disease & cancer on May 3, 2022. Im trying to get organized and keep the RedBuck available to friends & family. If I can get my act together and stay healthy, I hope to see some of you here. I'm cutting back on how many/often visitors stay, but if you have my phone #, call me direct to check my calendar! And thanks for your patience. 😊

Christmas Festival in Gettysburg! Streets (1/2 the Square, Baltimore & Steinwehr Streets) blocked off the entire weekend! Friday wreath-laying @ the National Cemetery, Friday night parade, food & craft vendors, musical entertainment, free carriage rides, Santa(s), Rudolf, dogs in cute sweaters! What fun! But I'm guessing some folks will have less than kind comments about the traffic detours! It was nice for us...no traffic in front of the house for 48 hours! 🎅

Busy weekend at the RedBuck! Full-house, with mostly "first-timers" to Gettysburg - all interested in the Civil War history. They couldn't wait to get out there and see it all! But yet had time for good conversation around the breakfast table.😊 Bud & Linda from the Boston area. Marty & Peggy from Minnesota. Terry & Samantha from Pittsburg area. Pretty sure they'll all be back for more!

This weekend's guests were from Delaware, Maryland & Montana! All family members here for a Gettysburg Experience! Attended Friday night's Long, Long, Long, Long Dinner Party...then a Civil War Barn Dance on Saturday evening. What a great time! Sunday's plan is to attend the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial at Emmitsburg, MD. A very full weekend!
(FB's "facial recognition" is flawed: Melani Van Petten is NOT here or in this pic!)

A dear friend & her family from California stopped by to visit us. I worked with Yvonne Butcher at California Dept of Forestry & Fire for many years! Her mother's & father's families are both from the East. We were lucky to be between the locations of her two, back-to-back family reunions! It had been at least 20 years since we'd seen each other! So glad they stopped by!

We honor all who struggled in the Battle of Gettysburg, 156 years ago today. Our home was occupied by both Union & Confederate.
