Okay, friends, here are the answers to last week’s questions.
Fifty years ago:
Regular student lunch - $.45
Adult lunch - $.50
Extra milk - $.05
Average hourly wage for cafeteria workers - $2.35 per hour
So, there’s your history tidbit for today!

The Museum is searching for a couple of old Scott County High School Yearbooks/Annuals (older than the one pictured). We would like to find a 1956 and a 1957 if possible. Does anyone know if they were even published then? Please let us know if you have one. Many thanks in advance.

Good morning, Friends!
We are fortunate to have on loan from Southern Elementary some of their Time Capsule artifacts. We now have a mini exhibit of some of the items, as well as an opportunity to view remaining items of interest. One letter on display is from Pauline Marie Bruce, Cafeteria Manager, in 1976. So, we are going to have a numerical trivia question today.
According to Mrs. Bruce, she and her staff served 600 lunches on May 27, 1976. Based on her information can you guess the prices of a regular lunch 50 years ago?
Student Price:
Adult Price:
Extra Milk Carton:
Also, she shared the average hourly pay scale for cafeteria workers? What would you guess?
Wish we could enjoy those prices in 2026!
(Except for the hourly wage!)

Good Morning Friends!
It’s a lovely day to visit us at the Museum! You might find the answer to the following question in our new Black History Exhibit.
Leave a comment if you think you know the name of the infamous local photographer who snapped these Kentucky landscape pictures. What a beautiful place. No wonder the pioneers wanted to settle here 250 years ago. Good luck!

Congratulations to the 2026 Georgetown College Graduates from the Museum!
Our gift is a little history for you. The original Georgetown College Gymnasium was dedicated in 1926, one hundred years before this graduating class. In 2012, the gym was renamed Davis-Reid Alumni Gym. At the Museum, we have an authentic piece of the original gym floor. Comment if you know whose autograph is on this piece of floor!

We are celebrating the first Farmer's Market of the season and know you are out and about enjoying beautiful Downtown Georgetown! We invite you to take some time to stroll through the Museum. We were looking at some of our farm related artifacts this morning. Historically, Scott County started growing h**p and then transitioned to corn and to***co. In recent years farming and farm products have greatly diversified as you can see at the Farmer's Market. We have included some pictures of what you can see and learn about at the Museum. One does not have a label. Please leave your guesses in the comments. I will add the correct label next week.

It’s a great weekend to visit our Equine Gallery between the races and the parties! Did you know Georgetown once had race tracks, the most famous being Blue Grass Park. Have you seen our portrait of the horse named “Georgetown”? How about “Kingman” pictured below? If you know a couple of pieces of trivia about “Kingman”, share in the comments please.
