Hey ... I don't want anyone to think that I have forgotten all about the pistachio ukulele because I have been working on it diligently ... you see it takes a considerable amount of time to get that silky hand rubbed satin finish. This finish is so special and velvety soft thst you won't be able to leave it alone. I also decided to go with a pistachio bridge to match the rosette surrounding the sound hole with contrasting rosewood string pins to match the fretboard. Bottom line ... this is going to be one sweet ukulele!
While progress continues on the pistachio tenor ukulele, I was able to put the finishing touches on a very special Curly Koa today. This tenor ukulele features beautiful highly figured Curly Koa back, sides and front, ebony bindings, "beachcomber " style side sound hole, open headstock, Grover "stay-tight" tuners, abalone rosette, radiused ebony fretboard with matching ebony bridge and unbleached natural bone nut and saddle. This ukulele possesses and an extremely fast action and spot on intonation. Look for this fine instrument on keanoukulele.com later this week

Spent some time cutting and shaping the bridge for the pistachio tenor today ... boy am I glad I went with pistachio for the bridge as it goes so well with the rosette surrounding the sound hole and the rosewood fretboard. Also spent some time on finalizing one of the flamed maple ukes that I started a while back. This tenor maple ukulele is the beachcomber model and features a beautiful highly figured bear claw spruce sound board, bloodwood bindings and an abalone rosette surrounding the sound hole. This one should be completed and available for purchase at keanoukulele.com within the next couple of days.

We're getting close people ... it's starting to look like a ukulele!

While taking a little breather and letting things dry a bit I thought that this would be a perfect time to remind everyone about my patented KeAno Breeze ... the unique design of this tenor acoustic / electric ukulele allows the players arm to rest on the solid hardwood frame rather than contacting the soundboard which deadens the overall sound of the instrument. This ukulele is so much fun as it allows you the freedom to quietly play for that special someone ... or plug it in and rock out with the big boys. Have some fun and let me build one for you.
