Stop in at the Georgetown Library to check out our summer specials for kiddos and adults! There are beach-themed books and jigsaw puzzles, beach toys, and craft bags aplenty, and the display is in our everyday book sale area on the second floor.

Pasa por la biblioteca de Georgetown para ver las ofertas de verano para los chiquillos y para los adultos! Hay libros y rompecabezas de temática de la playa, juguetes de playa, y bolsitas de manualidades para todos, y se encuentra la exhibición en la area de venta de libros diaria en el segundo piso.

Hey, all! FoGPL VP Diego here, reporting a little later than live from the Georgetown Library's Summer Kickoff! I had to do a little dine-and-dash, but I was able to meet with all the lovely people who showed up, including experiment 626- er, uh Stitch! He told me to remind you all that "Ohana" means Family, and that Family means no one - whether the closest of friends or the strangest of neighbors - gets left behind or forgotten.

Hola a tod@s! Aqui esta FoGPL VP Diego, reportando un poco mas tarde que de en vivo desde el inicio del programa de lectura de verano por parte de la biblioteca de Georgetown! Tuve que comer y salir, pero me alcanzo a convivir un poco con todas las personas quien se presentaron, incluyendo al experimento 626- eh, Stitch! El me dijo que les recordara que "Ohana" quiere decir Familia, y Familia quiere decir que nadie - desde el/la amig@ mas cercan@ al vecino mas extraño - se deja atras o se olvida. Let's all give a warm welcome to Michelle Witman and Diego Morones-Castillo, the new president and vice president of the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library, and may their tenure be nothing but smooth sailing!

Demos un buen bienvenida a Michelle Witman y Diego Morones-Castillo, la nueva presidenta y el nuevo vice-presidente de los Amigos de la Biblioteca Publica de Georgetown, y que su tiempo sea nada mas que facil!

Jigsaw puzzles on sale now in the Every Day book sale area on the second floor of the library! Puzzles are $2 each or 3 for $5! Good way to pass the time on a rainy day at the beach ☔️

A clearance section has been added to the Every Day book sale area. All items cost 25 cents and are marked as such with a sticker. We plan on adding other items such as movies and music CDs in the near future. Please stop in and check out the clearance selections!

Congratulations to our volunteer of the year award winner - Diego Morones-Castillo 🎉He is such a wonderful asset to our group and library, that he was also elected as vice president to the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library.

Hello, everyone! This is the FGPL Vice President Diego, here to let you know that the Library's yard sale is just around the corner, and we need your help!

From now until the end of July, we'll be accepting any item that you no longer need or want for us to sell in the yard sale. This includes old blankets or old electrical appliances.

Stop by the library on 123 West Pine St. In Georgetown, and we'll make sure your old stuff gets a new start!

DelaWarm - Knit or Crochet for those in Need
Saturday, June 27 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm

DelaWarm has created library events for community members to gather and hand craft crocheted or knit items for our neighbors in need. We serve the unhoused, domestic violence shelters, and schools throughout the State of Delaware. Warm items like scarves, hats, ear warmers and teddy bears for children would be ideal projects for this cause.

Won't you be a friend ?

The Friends of the Georgetown Public Library are starting its membership drive early. We are looking for people to join our committee, which is dedicated for raising funds to assist the library in meeting its operating costs.

Volunteer opportunities include setting up, working, and clean up for our book sales and other events. We also man our table at community events such as Wings and Wheels or our 5K run.

Membership costs as little as $10 for an individual and is tax deductible for 2025 if you join by 12/31/25.
