Mr. Schwendtner’s students had the opportunity to learn from Chris White of State Farm, who shared valuable insights about personal finance, investing, and building wealth.

Students explored different financial options available once they begin earning money, discussing the risks and rewards associated with each. Chris emphasized an important lesson: anyone can become a millionaire by living within their means, investing in themselves, and staying consistent with their financial goals.

One key takeaway was that successful investing is not about getting rich quickly—it’s about consistency, patience, and giving investments time to grow.

Summer camp registration is open!

First State Community Action Agency’s FREE Summer Camp will run from June 29 through July 30 for children ages 5–12.

This summer, campers will enjoy active play, creative arts, hands-on science, exciting field trips, and a safe place to learn, grow, and have fun.

Camp locations and times:

Georgetown: 8 AM–1 PM
Burton Village: 10 AM–1 PM
Bridgeville: 9 AM–12 PM
Slaughter Neck: 1 PM–4 PM
