Today, Friendship Place honors Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, celebrates resilience, and reflects on the ongoing journey toward justice and unity.

As we pause to observe this important holiday, we remember the strength, perseverance, and contributions of those who came before us and recommit ourselves to building a community where every neighbor is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Our office will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and will resume normal operations on the next business day.

Wishing our neighbors, volunteers, supporters, and community partners a safe and meaningful holiday.

We’re excited to share a new community partnership. Friendship Place is now a distribution site for the Catholic Charities Senior Box Program, allowing us to expand our reach and better serve seniors in our community.

Tammy wasn't the only neighbor who received a new bike last month. Friendship Place gifted seven donated bikes to neighbors in need, providing not just transportation, but greater access to work, resources, and community.

We're grateful to everyone who helped make these gifts possible.

This is how we friendship.

At Friendship Place, mentorship has become a proven path forward. Research shows that women who participate in mentoring programs nearly double their annual income.

That is why each month, 12 to 25 women gather at Friendship Place for our Georgetown LIVES Program, building relationships, setting goals, and walking toward lasting change together.

Congratulations, Natasha! 🎓

You may remember our neighbor Natasha from her graduation at Horry Georgetown Technical College last year. We're excited to share that she has reached another milestone, earning her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Her journey hasn't been easy, but she never gave up. Today, she continues working toward her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.

Her story is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when determination is met with encouragement, support, and community. 💛

Make sure you pack enough for three days! This includes non–perishable items(granola bars, canned foods, manual can opener), medication, coloring sheets, crayons, and a board game for kids, a gallon of water for each family member, flashlight, hand crank radio and a first aid kit, blankets, etc.

Friendship Served Weekdays | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Georgetown EATS is one of our longest-standing and most beloved programs and for many of our neighbors, it’s the front door to support. Some come in expecting a free meal…but many leave with a new friend, a prayer partner, and access to resources that can lead to a better quality of life.

Join us! We invite you to be part of this work by joining our team of volunteers and helping us continue serving our neighbors with love, hope, and friendship.
