Georgetown Air Services was recently granted permission by Customs and Border Control (CBP) to accept international flights at Delaware Coastal Airport. Today, we had our first customer utilize this new service. While CBP officers clear the passengers back into the US, we have to handle the garbage that comes off the aircraft, and there are very strict procedures for handling Regulated Garbage.

We received our new Lektro 8650 this week. It’s rated to move aircraft weighing up to 40,000 lbs, so it will easily handle all of the small and mid sized jets we get here at Delaware Coastal. Professor Donovan has been training the staff on proper usage of the Lextro.

It's shaping up to be a busy day at Delaware Coastal. In addition to all of the regular breakfast aircraft flying in, we have the Naval Academy parachute team here jumping from a Blackhawk all day. Come out to Arena's for brunch and watch the action.

A beautiful Carbon Cub on floats dropped in for fuel and lunch today. They are ferrying this Cub back to Florida for the season. This plane has excellent short field takeoff capability and the pilot demonstrated that with his 50' takeoff roll out of Delaware Coastal Airport.

Here's a unique flight track recorded a couple of days ago in the Houston area.

This DC-3 stopped in for lunch last week. It looks like it was part of the old Pan American Airlines many years ago. The current owners base it out of Manassas. They keep it in good condition, and they fly it to air shows in the local area. Who knows, maybe it will be here at Wings and Wheels on October 7.
