In 1966, Mack Trucks was dying. Severe cash flow problems. Competitors crushing them.

So they did something CRAZY...

They bet the entire company on an engine that every engineer said was IMPOSSIBLE:

❌ Peak torque at 1,200 RPM (competitors: 1,600-1,800)
❌ 52% torque rise (competitors: 15-20%)
❌ Only needed 5 speeds (competitors: 15 speeds)
❌ Could start 80,000 lbs from dead stop in TOP GEAR

The Mack 300 Maxidyne didn't just save the company - it forced the ENTIRE trucking industry to completely rethink how diesel engines should work.

This beast made 1,425 LB-FT of torque and could pull any hill without downshifting. That black smoke wasn't a bug - it was a FEATURE! 🖤
