Happy Juneteenth! π On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that all enslaved people were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. That day became Juneteenth, and in 2021, it was recognized as a federal holiday. A powerful reminder that freedom isnβt truly free until it reaches everyone. π€β€οΈπ

Who made the biggest impact on your time at Georgetown? A faculty member, coach or staff member who challenged you, encouraged you, and helped shape who you are today?
Because of them, you became you.
Make a gift to The Georgetown Fund in their honor by June 30. Every tribute helps determine our two campus tree dedications, recognizing the individuals who have inspired Georgetown students the most. Every dollar goes to support student scholarships. Every honoree (or their family) will receive your tribute. Link: gogc.me/give
