Georgetown Outdoor Adventure Trails (G.O.A.T.)

The Black River State Park has invited the Georgetown County Parks and Recreation Goat Herd Program to set up a Hike and Seek Course on the trails of the High Bluff Section this Saturday June 20th at the Black River Rendezvous. This is a great opportunity to visit one of the new sections of the Black River State Park that is not opening until next year, but you can get a sneak peak this Saturday only. You can visit the State Park by walking or a very short paddle on the Black River. Below is a description of the event from the Black River State Park Website. Get ready for an exciting 2026 Flag Football & Cheerleading season with Georgetown County Parks & Recreation!

🏈 Flag Football (Ages 5-8 & 9-12) — $40 per player
📣 Cheerleading (Ages 5-8 & 9-12) — $50 per participant (includes a custom cheer uniform!)

⏰ Registration closes July 25, 2026

🏃 Player evaluations and team selections will take place during the week of July 27.

Tackle Football Note:
Our tackle football season will take place following the conclusion of the flag football season. Registration will open in July. This schedule allows young athletes the opportunity to participate in both programs while also supporting our partnership with the school district for gameday facility use and coaching assistance. Whether you're just learning the game through flag football or preparing for the next level in tackle, we've created a pathway for players to enjoy the best of both experiences!

🏀🏈 JULY SPORTS CAMP REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🏈🏀

Georgetown County Parks & Recreation is excited to offer three FREE youth sports camps this July for boys and girls ages 5–12!

📅 Camp Schedule:
🏀 Basketball Camp – July 6–9
🏈 Tackle Football Camp – July 13–16
🏈 Flag Football Camp – July 20–23

⏰ All camps will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM to help participants stay active while avoiding the heat of the day.

We're also excited to partner with some of the athletic staff from the Georgetown County School District for several of these camps, providing participants with quality instruction from future coaches and a great opportunity to develop their skills.
