SCORE Client Success Spotlight: Kitty Bird Photography

Kitty Bird is the creative force behind Kitty Bird Photo, an Austin-based event photography business specializing in capturing the authentic energy and connection of professional events. When Kitty decided to make the jump from shooting neighborhood family portraits to working with businesses, she drew on her resourceful nonprofit background and the strategic support of SCORE to make it happen. Kitty now is hired regularly by big names like Frost Bank.

Knowing how to do a lot with a little, Kitty sought expert advice to sustainably scale her services. She utilized SCORE Austin’s resources: working directly with coaches over the past two years like Dan Steinborn, Carleton Smith and Shannon Black, attending in-person classes, and participating in the 2025 women's business conference. Through this mentorship, she learned how to maximize free online tools available to everyone, like optimizing her Google My Business profile to increase visibility in search results.

This guidance showed Kitty how to quickly build credibility, expand her network, and implement simple strategies right away.
