🇺🇸This morning☀️we woke up under a blanket of 🇺🇸FREEDOM🇺🇸 very grateful for the brave men & women who have gone before us & sacrificed so much to protect the liberties our Founding Fathers envisioned 250 years ago. Here at Mercy House, we are especially honored to have many residents who have worn our nation’s uniform & put their lives on the line to defend those freedoms. Today, & every day, we thank them for their courage, service &sacrifices.❤️🤍💙
As we celebrate America’s 250th year, we pray God continues to bless our nation for generations to come. May He grant us 250 more years of freedom, hope & unity as Americans, standing side-by-side for what we believe.🧨🇺🇸From our Mercy House family to yours, we wish you a safe, joyful & 🎉HaPpY🧨4th of July!🇺🇸🧨

🎯⚽ There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition &cheering as our residents enjoyed a game of Luke’s Ball Toss💙 While it may look like just a fun game, activities like this provide so many wonderful benefits for our residents. Tossing the balls helps improve hand-eye coordination, range of motion, strength, balance &fine motor skills, while also encouraging focus, problem-solving & cognitive engagement. Best of all, playing together promotes social interaction, confidence & JOY, because every laugh shared is just as important as every point scored!
At Mercy House, we believe that staying active doesn’t have to feel like exercise, it can simply look like friends having fun together & making special moments❤️

Mercy House Georgetown Residents were all shook up in the BEST way when Jimmy Lee Saurage brought the magic of Elvis Presley to life! 🎶🕺A huge ‘THANK YOU’ to Serenity Hospice for sponsoring this special performance and helping create such a joyful afternoon filled with music, memories, laughter & plenty of singing along. From tapping toes to dancing in their seats, our Residents had an absolute blast! Music has a remarkable way of connecting us to cherished memories, sparking conversation, lifting spirits & encouraging social engagement, especially for seniors living in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Familiar songs can evoke powerful emotions, stimulate cognitive function, and create meaningful moments of happiness and connection.
Thank you, Jimmy Lee Saurage, for sharing your talent and bringing a little bit of Elvis to Mercy House Georgetown, and thank you, Serenity Hospice, for continually investing in the lives & well-being of our Residents.

✨Care works best when a person feels three things: safe, known, and at home.
🛡️Safe means the environment is designed around their needs - routines, supervision, and a space that reduces confusion and anxiety.
🥰Known means caregivers understand who they are beyond their diagnosis. Their preferences, their history, what makes them smile.
🏡At home means it doesn't feel clinical. It feels familiar. Warm. Like somewhere they belong.
This…should be the standard, not the exception.

💪Who says exercise has to be boring? Not at Mercy House! We got our bodies moving with some fun chair exercises, proving that fitness can happen anywhere & at any age! Whether we’re stretching, reaching, lifting, or laughing, every movement matters.
✨Chair exercises help improve strength, flexibility, circulation, balance & coordination. They can even help reduce stiffness & support independence with everyday activities. But the benefits don’t stop there!
Exercise is also a wonderful boost for the brain. Physical activity can improve mood, reduce stress, increase alertness, &help keep our minds engaged & active. Plus, when we exercise together, we’re building friendships & creating joyful moments along the way.
So here’s your reminder: every wiggle, stretch & smile counts! ❤️
