This week, we would like to take a moment to recognize Animal Control Appreciation week. Their work is often challenging, requiring dedication and compassion. We are fortunate to have a hardworking team who protect and care for animals in our community. They truly make a difference every single day. Thank you for all that you do.

🚨 ICE IS NOT SAFE — STAY OFF FROZEN PONDS & LAKES 🚨

Cold temperatures do not guarantee safe ice. Thickness can change quickly because of currents, runoff, wildlife activity, or warming during the day. What looks solid from shore can fail without warning.

For everyone’s safety:

❄️ Keep people and pets off frozen ponds and lakes
📞 If someone or an animal falls in — CALL 911 immediately
🚫 Do NOT go out onto the ice to attempt a rescue
🧍‍♂️ Lie flat or stay low if you must reach from shore with a long object
🪵 Use a pole, branch, ladder, rope, or jacket to extend your reach
👶 Supervise children at all times near water
🐕 Keep pets leashed around ponds and creeks
🌡️ Remember: moving water weakens ice from underneath

After a long treacherous night quick breakfast break the dedicated team is back at it please be patient while we open the roads up and stay in if possible it’s very slick out.
