It has a been a busy couple of weeks!
Our advanced kids taught our Culinary 1 classes how to make pie crusts, we did some bread art, and we made a thanksgiving meal with multiple classes combined.
We can’t wait to share more of our holiday labs.
As always, please tell your family and friends that our Culinary department (the students) do catering events of all sizes. Just message us and we can figure out details and send an invoice if the date is available.

Advanced students had fun learning to decorate cookies today. The more they practiced, the better they got. 🥰👻🎃🦇

Our students had the opportunity to go to the Culinary Arts Career Conference in Austin today! They had the opportunity to compete with other Central Texas schools, learn by watching live cooking demonstrations, and learn from experts in various culinary careers. It was an incredible experience for the kids.
We’re so proud of all of our students who worked hard, practiced, and competed! We’re also proud that Nathan Bayer and Jasmine Garcia won 1st place in the Mystery Basket competition and each student received a $3000 scholarship.
Georgetown was represented well by GHS and EVHS, whose also brought home some wins today. 💙🦅

Culinary students had fun making chocolate mousse today. Annemarie used her muscles and grit to whisk her heavy cream into whipped cream, by hand. 🥰 They all did a great job! 💙🦅

We we’re pretty busy today prepping for catering a wedding tomorrow, and my cake girl wasn’t able to come to school today, so now I have a new cake boy too. It was his first cake and he did an amazing job on this cake, that will be decorated with flowers tomorrow for a sweet girls birthday! I couldn’t be more proud of him! 💙🦅

For our third teacher luncheon of the school year, Advanced students served Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with a side salad and homemeade breadsticks. It went really well and was delicious. The kids did a great job! We love serving our teachers! 💙🦅 These were the only pictures I remembered to take.

The kids were so excited to get back in the kitchen to cook their favorite lab from last year together. It’s funny to me that out of everything we cooked together, their favorite lab was copycat Chick-fil-A. It’s good to be back, team building, learning, and cooking together. 💙 🦅

We couldn’t be more proud of our kids that represented us in Culinary Arts at SkillsUSA 2022. We won blue ribbons in Commercial Baking 1-2 tier cakes, 3-5 tier cakes, and Showpiece. We also won Best of Show in 1-2 tier cakes. We had one student receive a bronze medal in Culinary Technical Testing and another in Commercial Baking Technical Testing. We learned so much for our first year, had a blast doing it, and former even closer relationships with all of our kids. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
