Our George West ISD students did an outstanding job performing the National Anthem at the Corpus Christi Hooks game under the direction of Ms. Crisp. We are proud of the confidence, talent, and poise they displayed while representing our district and community. Thank you, Ms. Crisp, for providing this memorable opportunity for our students! The George West High School National Honor Society invites our community to participate in a blood drive on Monday, June 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Parking Lot, 707 Frio Street. Your donation can help save lives and make a lasting impact on those in need.

The George West ISD Board of Trustees has named Mrs. Sara Alvarado as Interim Superintendent effective July 1, 2026. Mrs. Alvarado currently serves as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the district. Previously, Mrs. Alvarado served as Associate Director at the Region 2 Education Service Center. She also brings experience as Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, Principal and Assistant Principal in Region 1 in the Rio Grande Valley. Mrs. Alvarado will succeed Dr. Roland Quesada who has been named Lone Finalist for the Superintendent position in Buckholts ISD.

Today, GWISD educators spent their summer investing in learning that will positively impact our students in the coming school year. Continuous growth and collaboration are essential to ensuring the best educational experience for every student. We appreciate the dedication of our staff who continue to learn, lead, and prepare for success.

The energy at the George West Summer Basketball Camp was unmatched this year! Our "Legends in the Making" put in the work, got a little sweaty, and had a blast leveling up their game.
