When I decided to join FLXcursion as a conference director, one of my main missions was to help create a conference centered on the important conversations happening within our industry, while highlighting dynamic and diverse voices and creating more equitable access to this event.

As I continue my journey through wine, I am grateful for individuals such as Maryam Ahmed (Maryam Ahmed), one of our distinguished moderators leading a panel entitled “Wine, Wellness and Other Modern Contradictions.” Maryam is the founder of Maryam Ahmed, the pioneer behind Field Blends — of which I am an alum, yay Lodi 🥳 — and someone who lives, eats, and breathes creating access to wine spaces for all.

So when Maryam approached me about collaborating to create four equity tickets to FLXcursion, I jumped at the chance. And if there is one way I want to leave my mark on this conference, this is it.

I want to introduce some of the excellent up-and-coming wine, education, and hospitality attendees who will be joining us for FLXcursion: my fellow Field Blends: Lodi alum Quayla (Quayla Allen-Comella), Field Blends alum Nick (Nick Angel), current Field Blends: NY attendee Chardanay (lavish_vineswines), and our PhD candidate from SUNY Binghamton, Melika ().

These rising leaders in wine, education, and hospitality represent exactly why conferences like FLXcursion exist: to create opportunity, foster meaningful connections, and ensure that the future of our industry is more inclusive, more collaborative, and stronger because of it.
