Take a peek inside the "Naturalist's Color Guide." This guide serves as a reference for naturalists to describe and standardize observed color, built in part from observations of bird feathers. This is part 1 of the guide; part 2 goes into more thorough color analysis. The guide is located on the second floor of the library under the call number QL767 .S63 if you would like to check it out!

It looks a little funny, but it's a useful system! Please resist the natural urge to turn our books upright if you see them tipped. 📚

This little paperback caught my attention while on the third floor. "Waves and Beaches," by Willard Bascom, was published in 1964 and, as the title would suggest, is all about waves, tides, and beaches. This book is part of "The Science Study Series." The series was created in the second half of the 20th century with the goal of appealing to the general population, not just academic researchers.

Remember to visit our "More New Books" display on the third floor to grab new additions to our collection before they hit the shelves!

This lovely 1940 edition of Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë features lithographs by Barnett Freedman. We often have multiple copies of literary classics in our collection due to demand- I can see why this one has circulated so much!

Views from the third floor 📚 I'm on a mission to take photos from unique vantage points in the library this summer!
