Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the enduring strength of the African American community.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

It serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing pursuit of justice, equity, and opportunity for all.

Despite the severe storms that impacted many families and communities yesterday evening, Faith Farms is grateful to be open, safe, and continuing to serve our community.

This week, we're excited to spotlight our newest class of NUAG (Next Urban Agriculture Generation) Scholars, who officially began their summer program on Monday!

Throughout the week, our scholars have been gaining hands-on experience by:
🐐 Herding and caring for goats
🥚 Collecting fresh eggs
🌱 Watering plants and tending crops
🌿 Weeding garden beds
🐔 Maintaining the chicken pens
🌳 Assisting with landscaping and general farm upkeep

By working together in teams, they are learning responsibility, leadership, agriculture, and the value of hard work.

On Fridays, our scholars participate in mentorship and workforce development activities. Today we were blessed to have Rough Hands Landscaping CO. come out and provide advice and guidance 🫶🏽🫶🏽

At Faith Farms, we're not just growing food—we're growing the next generation of leaders.
