Throwing it back to one of our amazing Work Ethics Program sessions! 👏🍽️

We had the privilege of welcoming the founders of Moore Flava Catering, who took the time to train our Work Ethics mentees in the kitchen. During this hands-on experience, students learned how to prepare delicious steak sliders and potatoes while also gaining valuable knowledge about food safety, cleanliness standards, proper kitchen procedures, and the importance of professionalism in the culinary industry.

This session was more than just cooking, it was an opportunity for our mentees to develop practical life skills, teamwork, responsibility, and workplace readiness in a fun and engaging environment.

A special thank you to Moore Flava for investing in our children and youth and sharing your expertise. Your impact made this experience both educational and memorable. And kudos to our young people for their hard work and for creating a delicious meal! 👏🔥

These are the types of real-world experiences our mentees receive through the Work Ethics Program.

Special thanks to Shekinah Walton, founder of Shekinah Victoria Enterprises for leading a Work Ethics Session with our mentees on Digital Responsibility & Social Media Behavior. 🙌

In today’s digital world, what you post online can shape how others see you and can impact future opportunities. During this session, Shekinah helped mentees understand that their social media presence can influence their reputation, relationships, and even future educational and career opportunities. Mentees were encouraged to think intentionally about how they present themselves online and how responsible digital behavior can support their long-term success.

This session equipped students with practical tools to make wiser choices online and build a digital presence that reflects responsibility, integrity, and leadership. 💙

We were honored to welcome Chef Derrick Moore and RayShonda Smith-Moore, founders of Moore Flava Catering, who guided our mentees through an exciting, hands-on culinary experience.

From making homemade chili to baking classic chocolate chip cookies 😋, our mentees learned valuable kitchen skills, teamwork, and the importance of professionalism in the culinary arts.
