Learning Today to Lead Tomorrow! Timber Drive Elementary opened in July, 1997, as a year round school in Garner, North Carolina.
Our mascot is the Timberwolf and our school colors are blue and green. We are proud to offer a rigorous curriculum that is differentiated to meet the individual needs of our students. In addition to focusing on our core curriculum, our students enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities and clubs. These include Battle of the Books, Kindness Club, Safety Patrol, Chorus, and others. We are proud of our special events that showcase the work and effort of our students and teachers, and connect our school to our families and community in positive ways. Examples of these events are DanceFest, Fall and Spring Pack Nights, Howlabration, Read Across America Celebration, Breakfast and a Book, Field Day, Science Fair, and quarterly Character Education awards. Currently, all Timber Drive students and staff follow track 4 on the Wake County Public School System Year Round Schedule. We are eager to share all of the wonderful things that are happening at Timber Drive Elementary School every day. We welcome you to our learning community.

Today was 9-25 or 9 to 5 Day in celebration of Dolly Parton. Staff was treated to donuts and a “Cup of Ambition”.

Today, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction officially released school data results from the 2025-2026 school year. We are so excited to finally be able to share that we saw another year of increased achievement data! That means we have had multiple, consecutive years of increased achievement! In addition, our school’s growth measure (the amount of growth students showed from beginning of year to end of year) was the highest it has been in over 10 years! Our students showed immense amounts of growth and we are so proud of them! We can’t wait to see what they achieve this year! 🎉🐺🐾

The experts are right here in the building! Our teachers love learning from each other! Ms. Maness (first grade), Ms. Stewart (third grade), and Mr. Lawson (PE) presented best practices around setting objectives and providing feedback at our monthly staff meeting!

Today we celebrated a very special Timberwolf! Our amazing data manager, Mr. Wade, received a well-deserved promotion and is joining the district team! He will be supporting data managers all over the county and teaching the “Adam Wade standard”! This morning, we surprised him with a breakfast send-off, featuring his favorite breakfast (McDonalds).
Thank you, Mr. Wade, for 20 incredible years of service to our staff and families!
