Let’s take a behind-the-scenes tour of Station #5 with Firefighter Bryan!

A few quick facts:
* This public safety station opened in 2024 and is the newest station in Garner
* Runs the most mutual aid calls because of the location
* Houses Garner Fire-Rescue and Wake County EMS and also provides touchdown space for the Garner Police Department
* The apparatus bay features four-fold doors that open horizontally

Stay tuned for a tour of our administration building!

Firehouse tabletime conversation.....
Did you know that Wake County has a 15% cardiac arrest survival rate, as compared to the nationwide average of 10.5%? You may ask, "how is this possible?"
Before firefighters, paramedics, or the ambulance even arrive, YOU can make the biggest difference with early bystander CPR & AED intervention, that can restore a normal heart rhythm and dramatically improve the chance of survival.
For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation, the chance of survival decreases significantly.
You don't have to be a healthcare professional to save a life. Learning hands-only CPR and knowing how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) could mean the difference between life and death for a family member, friend, coworker, or even a stranger.
Take the time to get trained. One day, someone you love may be counting on you.

Please join us in congratulating two outstanding members of the Garner Fire-Rescue family as they begin exciting new chapters in their careers.

Captain Edward "EG" Burr has accepted the position of Fire Codes Administrator with the Town of Garner Inspections Department. Throughout his career with Garner Fire-Rescue, EG has been a valued leader and trusted teammate. While we will miss his leadership and contributions on shift, we are excited to continue working alongside him in his new role, where he will continue serving our organization and the Garner community with the same professionalism, integrity, and dedication that have defined his career.

As a result of this transition, Lieutenant Samuel Smith will be promoted to Captain. Sam has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and has made valuable contributions to our organization throughout his career. We are confident he will excel in his new leadership role and continue to serve our members and the community with distinction.

Congratulations to Captain Edward "EG" Burr and Captain Samuel Smith on these well-earned career milestones. We look forward to seeing the positive impact both will continue to make in their new roles.
