Ever since my daddy died Christmas just lost its magic. I didn't do a tree and I put out little Christmas decorations.
This year I had to work black Friday at a new job. We opened at 6a and in walked this woman who had to be in her 80s. I got the privilege of helping her. we got to talking only to find out that she is fighting cancer and that she happened to lose her husband right before Thanksgiving. So of course, we get to talking and I tell her about my husband and all the crazy s**t that has been going on in my life. How we moved, how I have a granddaughter that I haven't even meant yet, and so on. for some reason we got on the topic of the holidays and I told her how I used to love the holidays and how much it meant to me. But after my dad died I just kind of lost that magic.
This lady told me to go home and finish my tree decorate the crap out of your house ( her words)and enjoy every moment you have w the love ones you have around you. The hell w the ones that don't want you in their life.
Enjoy life and love it .. Because at any moment it can all be taken away.
