I received feedback recently that perhaps potential clients see our practice name, Room for Change, as something very different than it is intended. It was a blind spot for me as I’ve always been so focused on creating physical and emotional space

We had an incredible time representing Room for Change at the 2026 Pride In Business Expo! 🏳️🌈
We loved meeting so many wonderful people, sharing more about our presence in Houston, and talking about the importance of having supportive, affirming spaces for every person’s mental health journey. We also loved everyone's responses to our cute affirmation stickers 😊
Thank you to the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for bringing business and community together for such an energetic and meaningful celebration. We had a blast and are so grateful to have been part of it! 💙

This was such an interesting read. It’s a good reminder that kids don’t need perfection. They need support, connection, trust, and space to actually be kids! 💙

Even The Hulk knows that anger is rarely the whole story. Underneath the smash energy, there can be fear, grief, shame, and the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together for too long.
Healing is not about pretending you’re fine until you turn green and rip your sleeves off. It’s about learning that emotions don’t get weaker when they’re ignored — they usually just come back louder.
So remember, emotional regulation > emotional radiation. Always.

Recovery time is not wasted time. Rest, reflection, and repair are part of how people stay steady, especially when life has been demanding more than usual.
Recovery is an important part of managing stress.
Research shows practices like muscle relaxation, brief mindfulness, and consistent sleep routines can reduce stress and support long-term mental health.
Save this for later and come back to it when you need a reset.
Before we can regulate emotions, we usually have to recognize what they are trying to tell us. Naming what we feel can create just enough space to respond with more care and less autopilot.

Before the week starts, take a second to check in with yourself. What do you need more of this week? What can you release? What is one small thing that would help you feel a little more grounded?
A gentle mental health reminder for you as you head into a new week.💙

Stress is not just “in your head.” It can show up in your body, your mood, your sleep, your relationships, and even your ability to focus.
Paying attention to stress early is not overreacting. It is part of taking care of your mental and physical health.

Mental health care works best when people can walk into the room as their full selves.
Creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and understood isn’t extra. It’s a privilege 💙
Gender-affirming care can make a huge difference in someone's life.
But first, what is gender-affirming care?
It is both mental and physical care that seeks to minimize distress transgender people experience by providing a supportive, nonjudgmental environment that acknowledges the individual's gender identity or uncertainty about their gender identity.
