Not only do they consistently provide incredible quality food that simply cannot be replicated anywhere else in the area, but they are always stepping up to support the community in meaningful ways. The officers and members of Fire Company 3 are out and about this weekend doing their annual letter walk fundraiser. They hand deliver 15,000 letters to your doors in hopes of a donation to help offset costs of things like training, equipment, firehouse appliances, repairs, food, etc. Please consider donating when you receive one!
While our members have not been placed on an official emergency standby as of yet, we have already answered several calls for service and remain at the firehouse ready. Please stay off the roads as the Dpw continues to try to keep up with the storm and to allow emergency vehicles to get where they need to be!
To our residents:
Rest assured we will be ready to respond despite the conditions of the upcoming storm. The Officers and Members have spent the last 24 hours preparing and are ready to answer calls for service. Please help us help you by clearing fire hydrants of snow (if you’re physically capable) to make them readily available and visible in case of a fire.
Please don’t throw the snow in the roadway, this could not only hinder our response but also make the DPW’s job harder. Please support them as they are the ones who wait for us on fire calls and plow our way to calls to get to you safely.
Lastly please check your vents for your appliances that maybe snow covered or frozen over. This could create a hazard to you and your family by creating a fire hazard by overheating your appliances, like dryers, and also can create a backup of carbon monoxide that can fill your home and create serious health hazards or worse.

21 years ago on this day, our brother Angelo Petta paid the supreme sacrifice. Responding to a call for a natural gas leak, Angelo put his neighbors under his protection and brought them all out to safety. While he was exiting the home, he suffered a medical emergency. Despite immediate emergency medical interventions, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Angelo is remembered for many things. His wit, his caring personality, his love for his family, his love for his City, his love for his duty as a firefighter, but mostly for his selflessness and always doing for others.
“And then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'"
